For Tommy, Milam, Ross and Burt Toman, the family business started long before Toman Brothers Inc. officially opened its doors. Growing up, the four brothers worked alongside their dad, learning the ins and outs of sprayed fireproofing and insulation—and, just as importantly, what it takes to be a good contractor and earn the respect of customers.
On August 8, 1996, the brothers decided they were ready to strike out on their own and incorporated Toman Brothers Inc. Thirty years later, the company is still going strong, providing spray-applied fireproofing, intumescent fireproofing and spray-on insulation throughout Texas.
What started as a six-person operation has grown to more than 15 employees, with experience ranging from smaller projects to hospitals, apartments, stadiums, medical offices, K-12 schools and more.
Many employees have grown right along with the company. Tony Belmarez and JR Belmarez have each been with Toman Brothers for an impressive 29 years, while Lee Toman, Cody Shaw and Blake Killingsworth have each been part of the team for eight years.
Toman Brothers has also been a proud ASA member for 21 years, staying connected to the subcontracting community along the way.
The brothers plan to celebrate their 30th anniversary the way you might expect from a family business—with their parents, their employees and the people who helped make the journey possible.
