President’s Letter – November 2023

President’s Letter – November 2023

Dear Readers –

November. Thoughts turn to…”Oh, darn, where did the year go?” Or was that thought already in September? For some that are more organized, November turns to Thanksgiving and holidays to wrap up the year.

As always, there’s lots going on here at ASA. If your thoughts turn to ASA, here are the main items you should focus on:

  • Award Nominations – Due December 31. It’s time to pat yourself on the back – or someone that deserves a well-earned pat on the back. Ethics, Best Practices. Safety, and new categories…. All the details are here. Check out our award packet in this issue for a few more details. Awards will be presented at our glorious Always Something Awesome Mardi Gras Gala on March 8.

A little more on these new awards. This is an opportunity to recognize new members who have jumped in with both feet, and demonstrated their dedication to ASA’s success.
    • Young leaders (under 40)
    • Mentors
    • Media events
    • Recruiters
    • …and more. Read more about them in this month’s issue, or click on the link above.
  • Two webinars in December – a) Maximizing Your ASA membership – On December 6 – make sure you’re taking advantage of all the benefits your membership provides. b) Job Costing 201: Level Up Your Process for More Profit – On December 12 – how to master the art and science of job costing. More information on both here.
  • Mini Committee “Week” – (just a mini 2-day week) January 17-19, in Baton Rouge, LA. Think Tank meeting (all ASA members welcome!) on Jan 18. Committee meetings on January 19. More Information.
  • Register for SUBExcel before the rates go up in January. Check out subexcel.com
  • Home Depot Pro Rebate Program – for ASA members, why haven’t you signed up? Receive a potential semi-annual rebate on all qualifying pre-tax purchases. Check out the Enrollment Guide.

This is also the month to show our thanks for the blessings we have received. Take a minute to say thank you, and compliment someone for a job well done. We hope everyone arrived safely if they traveled for Thanksgiving. Take a deep breath, and relax.. Take a deep breath, and relax.
