Dear ASA Members,
As your new ASA President, I’m excited to hit the ground running and lead this incredible organization through the year ahead.
While I’ve had the privilege of serving ASA in various capacities before, each term brings new challenges, evolving priorities, and renewed opportunities for growth. I am deeply grateful for the confidence you’ve placed in me.
A sincere thank you to Mr. Ray Moya for his outstanding leadership and for ensuring a seamless transition. After years of involvement with ASA, I continue to be inspired by how our association grows stronger, more dynamic, and increasingly focused on serving its members – exactly as it should be!
With that mission in mind, I am thrilled to share a major benefit now available to our members: affordable health insurance for small businesses. We understand how difficult it can be to navigate coverage options and control costs. That’s why ASA has partnered with Affinity Benefits to offer flexible solutions. From 1 person through 99, our partner Affinity Benefits can help. Call Chris Cordon at (773) 272-5885, or email ccordon@affinitybenefits4u.com to find out more. Or check out the information or FAQs, then call with your company-specific questions.
On the advocacy front, I want to thank Mr. Mike Oscar and his team for expertly preparing Mr. Scott Halbrook and myself for our recent appearance on Fox Business News. Whether or not we swayed opinions, it was an excellent opportunity to highlight our priorities on a national stage. This underscores the value of our annual Fly-In as you never know which doors may open. (And no promises, Richard – I may still skip the tie next time.) If you haven’t seen our big TV moment, check it out.
As we reflect on the tragic flooding in Kerrville, Texas, our thoughts and prayers are with those affected. Events like these are somber reminders of the importance of safety planning, preparedness, and trusting your instincts – particularly during the high-risk summer season. Stay vigilant and prioritize safety at every level.
This issue of Compass focuses on mentoring those who are following in our construction footsteps. How do we nurture and prepare them for an industry that will look totally different from what we know today? We see the changes coming – as they always have. Those that adapt will prosper.
Lastly, SUBExcel is fast approaching – mark your calendars for September 16-18 in Oklahoma City! We’ve been working hard to make this the best SUBExcel yet, and I encourage you to register early, book your accommodations, and plan to attend.
Thank you again for your trust and support. It’s an honor to serve as your ASA President. I look forward to what we’ll accomplish together this year.
Yours for a better construction world,

Andrew Christ
ASA President, 2025-26
