President’s Letter – December 2025

President’s Letter – December 2025

Dear Readers,

As we close out another demanding year in our industry, I want to sincerely thank each of you for the resilience, professionalism, and problem-solving mindset you bring not only to your projects, but to this association. This year has not been easy. Yet time and again, subcontractors showed up, got the work done, and kept projects moving forward. That commitment deserves recognition.

In this issue, you’ll find a recap of our government advocacy efforts over the past year. From pushing for prompt payment and fair contract language to pushing back against unreasonable risk-shifting, your voice has been represented. While the outcomes are never perfect, they are meaningfully better because subcontractors were organized, informed, and speaking with a unified voice.

We’re also introducing a new segment in The Contractor’s Compass highlighting our newest members. Please join me in welcoming them to the ASA community. If you recognize a company or know someone on the list, I encourage you to reach out and personally welcome them into the ASA family.

December also gives us a moment to pause. I hope you will be able to find the time to step away from the jobsite, spend meaningful time with family and friends, and recharge before the new year. Our industry runs hard, and taking a real break isn’t a luxury—it’s essential if we want to lead well and make sound decisions.

Looking ahead, please mark your calendar for SUBExcel, taking place in Bonita Springs, FL, September 29 – October 1. This remains our best opportunity each year to build relationships, exchange ideas with peers, and walk away with practical insights you can put to work immediately.

I’m also excited to share that we will be launching our new Financial Curriculum Course for Construction Subcontractors in the coming year. This five-module program is designed to help owners, controllers, and emerging leaders better understand their numbers, price work realistically, and protect the company’s bottom line. Registration details will be shared early in the year, and I encourage you to consider enrolling yourself and key team members, so everyone is speaking the same financial language. As always, these sessions will be free for ASA members.

Thank you for your continued membership and trust in ASA. I wish you a safe and restful holiday season, steady work, and a strong start to the new year.

Sincerely,

Andrew Christ
